Modern KajuKenpo Karate is a martial art using kicks, punches, elbows and knees, it is designed for realistic street defense. Kenpo is a modern term describing one of the more innovative systems of the martial arts which originally started in Hawaii, is heavily practiced in the Americas, and has now spread worldwide. KEN means fist, PO means law. So Kenpo is defined as fist law. The techniques taught in our Kenpo system is derived from American Kenpo. Because we are in an ever-changing world so is the need for martial art styles to be ever-evolving. Modern KajuKenpo Karate teaches defense against weapons (i.e. guns, clubs, knives), mass attacks and also teaches ground survival. This is a great system for those who are wanting to know how to defend themselves and their loved ones. Their are numerous techniques in each belt level where you will learn to fight and defend against different situations, angles of attack, intensities of attack and manners of attack. At Wagner's Martial Arts Academy we use a very positive approach in teaching this system and always strive to maintain an encouraging and upbeat atmosphere while at the same time dealing with the seriousness of life and death attacks. We condition ourselves to be prepared for the adrenaline dump and emotions that occur during an attack. Our overall goal in Modern KajuKenpo Karate is to have our students ready to survive in any kind of attack. If you're interested in ground fighting (grappling) we teach Brazilian Ju Jitsu and for the student that has a desire to learn all aspects of combat we offer Hwa Rang.
